I have a confession to make. I am struggling with my attitude and with my emotions right now. Those of you who know me outside of the safety of these online walls probably haven’t noticed a whole lot of change. I’m good at masking things. Yet, facts be known, I’m having a hard time creating my new normal. Your prayers are appreciated as a listen for and yield to what the Lord has for me in this new season.
I am a good one for preaching and teaching to my children. Many a time (okay, probably all the time) I would do well to heed the advice that I am dishing out. I need to find contentment in my current place. I wouldn’t allow my children to wallow or wade in a pool of discouragement. I don’t think my Heavenly Father would want me to be there either.
So, what a great blessing it was for me to discover that the review opportunity I was given for February was to check out this online seminar that Lorrie Flem, with Eternal Encouragement, put on. As a side note, may I encourage you to seek out groups that you can be involved with – online or in person – where you will be able to come alongside other like-minded women to encourage and to be encouraged? It can make a huge impact! One such group that I am involved in is the Gabby Moms Review team! The topic of this month’s resource?! Wouldn’t you know it? It was called “The Creating Contentment Seminar” Ah, yes Lord, I hear you.
Going through this study truly helped cement for me that contentment is an active choice, not a passive mindset. Lorrie summarizes the process to Creating Contentment by laying out 14 Ways to Create Contentment in this seminar. The visuals that you will get will make you want to ‘pin’ them all – or share them on your Facebook page. I found myself nodding and saying “yes” as I read through each of the slides. Then, of course, you get Lorrie walking you through all of it personally. What a great concise topical study this is. Take this opportunity to learn how to create contentment in your life. More details on the product can be found here.
Lorrie will have another Seminar called “True Womanhood is Not for Wimpy Woman” available on the website tomorrow, March 1st. Isn’t that a great title?! :-) I can’t wait to check that out myself. I, seriously, was just discussing with my friend, Colleen, about how we, as women, tend to focus on our shortcomings instead of recognizing ourselves for the real rock stars that we are. Stop and think about what you are to all those people in your life. Chances are that you are many of these, if not all: Wife, mother, teacher, church program leader, mentor, job holder, caretaker, taxi driver, housekeeper, cook, …. and so on. YOU matter a ton!
